David M. Cox

Mr. David M. Cox, of Henderson, passed away Monday, March 5, 2007, he was
81 years old. A lifetime resident of Nevada, he was born July 19, 1925, in Bunkerville.
David started teaching school in 1951 at 5th Street Grammar School, the same
grammar school he attended. He attended Las Vegas High School, and graduated
from Virgin Valley High in 1942. David was a school principal at Jim Bridger,
Von Tobel, and Fremont Junior High schools. For his dedication to education, in 1990,
our school was named in his honor. David was among the first wave of soldiers
at Omaha Beach during World War II. David served his LDS mission in 1983,
and served on the Clark County Planning Commission for four years. He was
an outdoorsman, spending his entire life in the valley he loved.
